Tarheel Stamper - Stampin' Up! Doily Triple Layer Punch Rose Card

Doily Rose Card

Click on photo for larger view.

I enjoyed making this card. I thought I would try to make a flower with the Doily Triple Layer Punch. Got use a neat new border punch called Lace Ribbon. Although the new catalog is coming out, don't miss out on some of the retiring stamp sets. You have to order them before the end of June. Also retiring accessories can be viewed at my online store. They update constantly because once the accessories are gone, they are no longer available for purchase.

I punched four of the solid images from Blushing Bride. The rose looks like it is Pretty in Pink, but is Blushing Bride card stock sponged on the tips with Pretty in Pink. With scissors I cut in toward the center between each "petal" not going all the way to the center. The smallest Blushing Bride flower is made by cutting two petals out. All of the flower pieces were sponged with color around their edges and curled with a stylus. I stacked them up attaching them with strong glue. I wish I would have put a brad through them before adding the So Saffron flower center. That was made with one of the punches in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack punched from So Saffron. I glued two together. I added a small pearl for the center.  The leaves were punched with the Blossoms Petal Builder punch.  They are punched from Certainly Celery and sponged with Certainly Celery around the edges.  A stylus was used to draw a line down the
middle and for the veins.

The So Saffron piece behind the flower is made with the new (available in the 2011/12 catalog) Lace Ribbon Border Punch.  I love that lacey look!  I used a Certainly Celery card base and a Very Vanilla piece embossed with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing folder.  I lightly sponged Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink around the border of the Tulips piece. I masked around the border to sponge. I only have the Blushing Bride marker so I used the Pretty in Pink.  This card is for Color Challenge # CC322 on Splitcoast Stampers and for a wedding/bridal challenge on

For the inside I cut a strip of So Saffron and layered two of the Doily punched shapes plus three of the Itty Bitty punches.

My wish list grows longer every time I look at the new catalog!  Love the new ribbons, DSP, punches, and on and on and on.   LOL

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Party table. I used sprinkles of the Two Step Bird punch on the table.

One of the tables set up.  Ignore the stray bottle of water please.  LOL

Bought a T-shirt and fabric markers for people to write marriage advice or congratulations.  These were directed at Sara.  I did this at her bridal shower also.

Tarheel Stamper - More Wedding Photos

Just thought I would add some more photos of the wedding reception and decorations.  We haven't seen the official photographer's photos yet.  These were taken by my brother-in-law.

Remember you can click on the photos to have them open up in a larger view.

Used these bird nests on the wedding party, food and drink tables

Pretty cake!  Used Two Step Bird punched pieces sprinkled around tables.

Table in the foyer.  I put some of the grapevine balls on a stick with the birds on top in the floral arrangement.

This is the centerpiece on the wedding party table.  I found the bird on pedestal ceramic pieces at Michael's for 1/2 off and they were only $3.99 at the regular price.  Two for $3.99 isn't bad.
I will be back tomorrow with some more photos of the wedding.  Maybe some of the ideas I used will help someone when they are planning a wedding or need table ideas.

Hope you have a wonderful day,

Tarheel Stamper - Pennant Banner and Bird's Nest Wedding Favors

Bird Nest Favors

The first photo is of a place setting at the reception.  We used paper and plastic products to help offset the cost and to quicken clean up! These are bird nests (haystacks) in a cello bag tired with Certainly Celery Satin ribbon.  I used the Wide Oval, Modern Label, and Word Window punches.  Colors are Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and Bashful Blue card stock.  My Digital Studio is great for making the labels.

You can click on the photos for larger views.  We made almost 70 of these.  I would not have been able to do these without help from my sister, my other daughter(in law) and made my newest daughter(in law)'s sister.

Banner

The banner below is made with the Pennant Bigz XL die.  I stamped their names in Chocolate Chip with the Lovely Letters stamp set.  I used the 2 Step Bird and Scallop Circle punches on the banner also.  I wish I had a better photo, but hopefully you get the idea.  Everyone loved the banner and decorations.

We had a fruit and vegetable tray, wedding cookies, cake pops, mints, nuts, chocolate dipped strawberries, and heart shaped chicken salad sandwiches.  Also I made a Sundrop punch and we all love it.  Made it for the wedding reception also. Recipe is below the photo.  It is simple and thirst quenching.  It went quickly at both events.

Copied from Cynthia on the link below the recipe!

Sundrop Punch

If you are ever in need of a delicious punch recipe that is easy to make with limited ingredients, this recipe is for you. I found it while getting my nails done in a cookbook produced by the women of First United Methodist Church in Clover, SC.

2 (12 ounce) cans frozen lemonade concentrate
2 (46 ounce) cans unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
3 (2 liter) Sundrops, chilled

Mix lemonade and pineapple juice together and refrigerate or freeze. If frozen, set out of freezer about 4 hours before serving time.

Pour into a large punch bowl, add Sundrop and stir gently to blend. Float thinly sliced lemon or orange on the top. Serve immediately.

Tarheel Stamper - Cake Pops and Shower and Wedding Favors

Thought I would share these cake pops I made. I had seen some on an Internet site and thought they would be cute to have for my daughter(in-law's) shower.  Mine doesn't look as good as that site's, but I think they turned out cute.  It did take some to make these, but everyone loved them.  I wish I would have had more time to maybe add a ribbon and a punched label to them, but they are cute.

Next is a photo of all the pillow boxes I made.  I showed one in the video I shared the other day.  These are made with the Sizzix Pillow Box Die, Modern Label and Word Window punches, Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue and Whisper White card stock, and Certainly Celery ribbon. I also used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.

Below is a close up of one of the boxes.

Next post I will show the banner some other decorations and the reception favors.

Tarheel Stamper - First Video - Sizzix Pillow Box Die Tips

I cannot believe how long it has been since I posted.  Almost one month without a post is too long!  I was very busy with wedding preparations for our oldest son and now daughter("in-law")!  Yahoo they were married Saturday March 12th.  I made the decorations for a shower, wedding invitations, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding reception.  I had some great help from my other daughter("in-law"), my sister, and the bride's sister.  I am so thankful they helped me last week or I would never had gotten all the wedding things finished.  I will share pictures in the future, but I don't have my camera with me at the moment.

My sweet aunt passed away early Thursday morning and we buried her yesterday.  So my past week has been a roller coaster of emotions.  The family was so kind to schedule family visitation and the funeral services for Sunday and Monday so the wedding could go on and my mother (her sister passed away) could attend the wedding.  The wedding was wonderful and some of the family told me it was a nice and needed diversion from the pain of losing a grandparent and mother-in-law.  I am thankful to know that she is with loved ones and the Lord in Heaven now.

On to the video and enough of the personal life things for today.  I was making pillow box favors or the wedding rehearsal dinner and wanted to use each piece of card stock for as many pillow boxes as possible.  The video shows you how to get 4 out of one piece of card stock.  I wanted to see if I could make a video.  Please don't laugh too hard.  LOL ;-)  I hope you can get some tips out of this video.  I show the pillow box and some other tips I have learned about using the Sizzix.  I hope to make more in the future.  I used the Sixxix pillow box die from Stampin' Up!  It is so easy to make cute boxes with this.  I put 4 Robin Egg candies in each box.  The theme of the wedding was love birds.  The video is below and also on YouTube.  I have a channel titled Tarheel Stamper.

Anyway  I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for reading all this!

Tarheel Stamper - Bridal Shower Invitation

 Bridal Shower Invitation

click on photo for larger view

click on photo for larger view

I saw this style of dress/gown on Patty Bennett's blog and then found a similar one on StampingSharon's blog.  I just love these and made a robe to put over my dress.  I am hosting a lingerie bridal shower for my oldest son's fiance.  I thought it turned out so cute.   I made another pattern from vellum of the dress and drew a line at the waist.  Then I used a ruler to draw a line from the center point of the waist to the 4th scallop from each side and cut that triangular shape cut.  To make cutting all the dresses and robes out, I just held the pattern to each scallop circle and freehand cut around the pattern.  I felt it would take too long to trace around the pattern each time.  I had to do a little trimming after adding the robe over the dress, but I think they turned out so cute.
I made the inside on My Digital Studio. I love how easy it is to match the colors to the card stock.  Great way to customize your invitation.

Tarheel Stamper - Simple Wedding Card

A friend of my husband's at work is getting married tonight.  We are going to the wedding.  I wanted a fast pretty card to make for them and think this is it.  The invitation we received was black and white so I used those colors.  The embossing folder is Manhattan Flower.  I used Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set to decorate the inside.  Also I used our clear envelopes to give it to the bride and groom.  I thought it would be neat for others to see the card.  The inside is punched with the Pinking Hearts border punch.  It adds a nice touch I think.  The "congratulations" stamp is from the Perfect Punches set and is heat embossed with Detail White powder and Basic Black.  The ribbon is white Organza.  I love the elegant look of this ribbon.  Pefect for wedding cards I think!  I had written inside the card before I took the photo so I tried to clean up my writing so the inside looks a little funny, but I wanted you to see the stamping and border.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Tammy Q Howell aka Tarheel Stamper

PS.  Back from the wedding.  It was so sweet and touching.  This is a 2nd marriage for them and they were high school sweethearts.  The bride's son walked her down the aisle and sang to her.  It was held with a lake in the background and a beautiful cabin backdrop.

Tarheel Stamper - Bridal Gown Napkin

I saw this idea on several sites so I am not sure to whom to give credit.  If this was your original idea thanks for the great project and let me know and I will give you credit!  I just love these.  I used the same embossing folder, Elegant Bouquet, to dry emboss the napkin.  I used a smaller sized napkin and folded it into a triangle shape.  I then ran it through the Big Shot with the embossing folder.  The top of the gown is a Round Tab Punch from Very Vanilla card stock.  I used the Boho Blossom punch for the flowers from Chocolate Chip and the retired color Really Rust.  The ribbon is also retired.  It was an easy, but cute favor.  I used these for the bridal shower and the rehearsal dinner.  This is the last post of wedding items, but I sure enjoyed making everything for the wedding and parties.  It was a lot of fun.  I am not sure why the photograph looks like the napkin is debossed, but the embossing is standing up from the napkin.  No more wedding items for a while!  LOL Have a wonderful stampin' day!

Tarheel Stamper Bridal Shower Favors

Held a shower for my soon to be daughter in law, more like a daughter!  I made these as a favor for those attending.  They were a big hit! I will share some more things I made for the shower in future posts.  We had a blast.  I wanted to have a fun shower and from the feedback everyone loved it!  It is such a blessing when get togethers turn out well.  Hannah received a lot of gifts.  Bobby and Hannah have received a lot of items needed for their new life.  I believe that God is rewarding them for being faithful in their service to Him.  Bobby hopes to get a position in the future as a youth or associate pastor.

One fun game we had was to put household or health and beauty items in a cloth bag.  The bag has to be one that you cannot see through, but can feel through.  You tell the guests how many items are in the bag and they have to feel them and write down what they think they are.  I had some hard ones in there along with things I knew they would guess.  Just don't add chocolates LOL!  A few guests got a little rough and kneaded them.  LOL  We all had a lot of laughs.  Also don't use a kitchen timer unless the buttons cannot be pressed.  One guest found the buttons, but no one else noticed the beep.  LOL  So much fun!

Anyway I used the Sizzix Matchbox die for this.  I dry embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder  I used these colors and embossing on their wedding invitations.  The ribbon is Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I printed their names on a sheet in Really Rust and Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla.  Then they were punched with the small oval punch.  The flowers are from a retired Stampin' Up! punch.  I have a close up below.  Used a 1/4" circle in the middle of the flowers.

Opened box shown below.  I printed return address labels with their names and wedding date in Really Rust and Chocolate Chip.  I only put the labels on two candies and I think it turned out better than putting them on all four.  I am going to make these for the wedding rehearsal dinner we are hosting on the 12th.  I will have a couple of more posts on napkins and a banner I made.  I will be using those also at the dinner.

Happy Stampin',

Tarheel Stamper Fancy Favor Wedding Box

Hi Stampin' Friends,

Hope you are all doing well.  Still battling a little dizziness, but am going to Family Camp with our church anyway.  I really need to get out of the house.  LOL

This is an easy box to make with the Big Shot.  I have a photo below of other items I made with this theme.  I have instructions to make the scallop circle purse here.  I trimmed the piece of card stock left after cutting this box for the strip going around the top of the box.  I thought it made a nice embellishment.

I am going to use these at the rehearsal dinner for the bride and groom.  Not sure what I will put in them yet, but I have to come up with something quickly. Any suggestions?  I would love to hear your suggestions.

Tarheel Stamper - Bridal Shower Card

Hi Stampin' Friends,

Here is a fast post as I am on my way to the doctor's office.  I have vertigo or something since late Friday afternoon.  Yuck!  Can't wait to be able to stamp and feel normal again.

I made this for my future "daughter"'s wedding shower our church had for her on Sunday.  I was so disappointed that I could not attend since I was dizzy and sick.

Made this with the new embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper.  Colors are Ivory and Riding Hood Red.  I used the Perfect Dots embossing folder on the hearts which were cut out with the Sizzix Big Shot.  It is the Magnetic Movers and Shapers Punch Windows set.

Have a great day,
Tammy aka Tarheel Stamper

VC Rocks Blog Hop #2 with Blog Candy

Welcome to my stop on the VC Rocks Blog Hop #2.  You may have come here from http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com/   After my blog you will proceed to http://www.inkingthenightaway.blogspot.com/ to see some fantastic projects.  If you get lost on the hop, go to http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com/  Read below for a description and details about blog candy.  You should be able to click on the photos for a larger view. Check back or follow my blog to see more wedding projects.  I will be sharing more I have made for the wedding in upcoming blog posts.  I have a photo of the group of projects at the end of this post.

Found this idea on Creations by Patty blog.  These purse boxes are very simple to make.  Great for small gifts, gift cards, trinkets, jewelry, or whatever you want to put in them.

I used Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla as my colors.  My son and his finance are using these colors for their wedding in August.  The Big Shot dies I used are Scallop Circle, Daisies #2, and Elegant Bouquet Impressions embossing folder.  I embossed with the folder after cutting the scallop circle out.

I used the Wedding Sweet set to add the thank you.  Colored the words with markers, huffed on the stamp, and stamped on Very Vanilla.  I punched the words out with tag punches.  I used a new punch in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack for the small flower on the tag and daisy.  I used Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon.  Said to say but it is retiring as well as the Really Rust Card stock. Tied the tag on with crochet thread.

Cut two scallop circles out.  Score leaving 7 scallops.  Do this on both scalloped circles.  See photo for detail.

Next follow directions on the photo below and tape together.

You will tape this box to the two scallop circles with the small scored piece taped to the bottom of the box. Tie some ribbon, add some embellishments and you have a great package!

I have some blog candy for you.  Somehow I ended up with two of It's the Thought Level 1 hostess stamp sets from the Summer Mini.  This is a clear mount set.  You will need acrylic blocks for this one.  Just leave a comment with your email address included in the comment.  You can leave it in this form {email at company dot net.}  If you don't leave an email, I want be able to contact you and this will disqualify you from the blog candy drawing.  I will use random.org to pick the comment on Monday, June 28.

I have so much fun with the VC Rocks yahoo group.  We have games, a virtual hotel, swaps, classes and so much more. Join us next year.  In the meantime you can view samples at the blog http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com/.

Now please hop on over to http://www.inkingthenightaway.blogspot.com/ to enjoy more great projects!
Have a wonderful day!
