Tarheel Stamper - Baby Monkey Card

Click on photo for larger view

I wanted to make a baby card and didn't really have a specific stamp set to make one.  I remembered I have Sock Monkey and Sock Monkey Accessories.  I was tickled to see that the Accessories had a rattle and a flag.  I used Teeny Tiny Wishes for the Hello and Baby on the flags.  I used a post it note to cover the part I didn't want inked and stamped the other word with Black Stazon Ink.  I knew I wanted to watercolor after the words were on the flag so chose Black Stazon.  I used reinkers on a plastic lid picked up with the Aqua Brush to watercolor on SU watercolor paper. I think he turned out cute and maybe this card could be for twins!

Now for my Baby Girl Bib card share!
You can click on the photos to see a larger view.

I decided to opt for a little older girlie look for this bib.  Maybe she could wear this to cover her Sunday Best!
For this card I used the Cottage Wall Designer Series paper (Item# 115671).  Order quickly if you want this paper.  It will go on the Retiring list and possibly sell out before the end of June.  I used the 5 Petal Punch (Item# 109041).  Punch two flowers out of Pale Plum, Sponge edges.  I used the Boho Blossom Punch (Item# 110711) to punch a flower out of the DSP. The leaves are punched from Certainly Celery with a Sizzlits 4 Pack Die called Stampin' Up! Birds and Blooms (Item # 113485). Pierce holes where you want the button to go. I used crochet thread to attach the buttons.  The ribbon is gathered behind the button and between the thread.
You can see how I made the card base on the post here.

Have a great Stampin' Day!

I used retiring colors Barely Banana and Almost Amethyst.

Forest Friends Baby Bib

Supplies needed:
1 - 5: x 11" Almost Amethyst Card Stock - scored and folded in half
1 - 5" x 5" Barely Banana Card Stock
Scrap of Barely Banana and Almost Amethyst Card Stock
1 - 4" x 4"  Whisper White Card Stock
Almost Amethyst  Classic Ink Pad
Teeny Tiny Stamp Set     Item# 115370
Forest Friends Stamp Set     Item# 113748
2 Flower Brads     Item# 112583
White Signo Gel Pen     Item# 105021
Whisper White Organza Ribbon    Item# 114319
Sizzix Bigz Die Scallop Envelope     Item# 115950
Sizzix Texturz Plate - Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1     Item# 114512
Modern Label Punch     Item# 116630
Word Window Punch     Item# 105090
Wide Oval Punch     Item# 112082
1 3/8" Square Punch     Item# 103375
1 1/4" Square Punch     Item# 104400
1/4" Circle Punch (retired)

  1. Run Barely Banana through Big Shot with the Scallop Square die.

  2. Using Large Dot Texturz Plate, run Barely Banana piece through Big Shot.  Set aside.

  3. Score 5" x 11" Almost Amethyst card stock at 5 1/2" and fold in half.  Run bone folder over fold to make a sharp crease.  Tip:  Lay a piece of copy paper over the fold and run bone folder over the copy paper.  This prevents shine from forming on the card stock. Next line the fold just underneath the scalloped part of the top of the Scallop Square die to make a scallop square card.

  4. Line Wide Oval punch in center of top of Almost Amethyst Scallop square card.  Only punch halfway down for neck hole.

  5. Put Barely Banana piece on top of Almost Amethyst with embossed dots on top, lining up scallops about  1/8" above bottom of Almost Amethyst.  Holding together, flip these two pieces over and lightly trace around neck hole and shoulders with a pencil.  Take Barely Banana piece off and line Wide Oval punch on top of pencil lines and punch.  Next adhere this piece to Almost Amethyst and trim shoulders down to the top of the Almost Amethyst piece using scissors being careful not to cut into the fold of the card.

  6. Punch 10 1/4" circles from Barely Banana.  Adhere as shown in sample card alternating scallops.  I cut my top circles in half after gluing to the Almost Amethyst piece.

  7. Stamp "Hello Baby" from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Almost Amethyst on Whisper White piece.  Punch out with Word Window punch. Punch Almost Amethyst scrap with Modern Label Punch.  Glue sentiment Word Window piece to Almost Amethyst Modern Label piece.Using White Signo Gel Pen, put two dots on the Almost Amethyst punched piece as shown in card sample. Stamp bunny image from Forest Friends in Almost Amethyst on Whisper White. Trim closely around bunny.  You can leave a tiny border of white.  Also I didn't cut out the inside white part of the tail.

  8. Punch 1 3/8" square from Almost Amethyst.  Punch 1 1/4" square from Whisper White. Layer Whisper White square on top of Almost Amethyst square.  Using Stampin' Up! Dimensionals, pop the bunny image up centering on Whisper White square.

  9. Cut approximately 12" of Organza ribbon.  Pierce holes only on the front of the card where desired for the two flower brads to go through.  Crunch the ribbon between the two brad prongs and insert in hole.  Bend prongs flat on inside of card.  Repeat for other side. See close up photo below. You can use a wood stamp to flatten brad prongs.  (I have a post here if you want to come back and look later on. )

  10. Stamp sentiment of your choice and decorate inside as desired.

Good Friday

It is a wonderful Good Friday here.  Temperatures are warm and the sky is blue.  Love this weather.  More importantly though, I love my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Today we celebrate the day He went to the cross, because we know He arose!

I have been very busy and unable to post lately.  I have been making place card tags for our church's ladies banquet.  I made over 200!  I am including a photo of one stack.  I think they turned out cute!

Also I made 30 baby shower invitations for my step-sister.  They turned out so cute.  I have included two photos of the pieces used in those.  It took a while to glue everything together but they are cute!

I hope you have a blessed Easter!

Froggy Baby Boy Onesie

My stepsister asked me to make some baby shower invitations.  This is a sample of what I came up with. The shower decorations are frogs and dragonflies.  I might make a dragonfly for the inside. The colors are Taken with Teal and Green Galore.  The frog is a smaller version of one I made here.  I scored the front of the cardstock with lines to give it some dimension.  I used Stampin' Up's wonderful punches to make this card.

I found these wonderful directions for the baby onesie card here on Becky Jensen.  I think this turned out so cute!  Hope she does too!

Have a wonderful day!

Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Baby Card

Finally I was able to stamp today! Yahoo! I miss it when I cannot create something. Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to coordinate colors. I used Soft Subtles for this card. This card is for a Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group challenge to use pastel colors and NO NEUTRALS! Do you know how hard that is.

The flower is made from two Scallop Circles Item # 113468 cut with the Big Shot from Shades of Spring DSP Item # 117160 and Pretty in Pink card stock.  I inserted the head in between the two flowers.  The cheeks are chalked with Pretty in Pink pastel chalk.  The little strip of hair is cut from the Swirly Sizzlilts Decorative Strip Die Item # 113456 as is the stem of the flower.  The small flowers are punched from Pretty in Pink with the Boho Blossoms punch Item # 110711.  The Barely Banana card stock is run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder Item # 117335 in the Occasions Mini and punched with the Sale-a-Bration mini's Scallop Trim Border punch.  This punch is free with any $50 purchase of merchandise less taxes and shipping charges.  This punch will be available for sale in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. Hello Baby is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set Item # 115370 stamped with Certainly Celery Craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder.  I then punched it out with the Word Window punch Item # 115090 and matted it with a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock punched with the Modern Label punch Item # 116630

I thought about babies and spring when I heard the challenge so I combined the two! I think it turned out cute. I am sure the idea for the bloomin' baby is not original to me, but I did not case anyone's card. Hope you enjoy it! (I wrote this post on Thursday, February 25th, 2010)

Have a wonderful stampin' day!

Punch Art Stamp Camp Projects

Gathered these ideas from some very talented ladies.  Connie Babbert came up with the idea of the Owl pouch.  I used a pouch tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers for my pouch and used punches I had for the Owl.  I didn't have the large flower punch she orginally used for the eyes.  The lion link is in a previous post.  I forgot where the baby buggy idea came from.  It is so cute.  Anyway we are making these Saturday at my stamp camp.  If you are in or near Kings Mountain NC and want to come, email me!  Have a great day!

Baby Girl Shower Card

I used retired Designer Series Paper from this year's Sale-a-bration freebie pack. I found the template online from a crafts magazine. I thought it made a cute card. Card stock is Certainly Celery. I used paper vellum for the apron. The button and ribbon are current. Just thought I would make a quick post with this card. I am giving this with a gift card for a young lady at church on Sunday. This card could be stepped up with more embellishments or using a Texturz plate on the vellum, but I am not feeling well and wanted to get it made quickly. Think she will like it?
