Tarheel Stamper - Vacation Pages

It has been a while since I posted.   We were on vacation for two weeks and I have been in a flare up for 3 or 4 weeks now.  Our vacation was spent in Florida at my sister's house.  We are blessed to have family there to spend time with.   I have several pages I made with My Digital Studio of some exciting things we saw there and will be sharing them.

I am a big space program fan.  I have followed our space program for a long time.  I have been blessed to see 4 shuttle launches and witness one time when the shuttle entered  the atmosphere above Texas during the night.  What a pretty sight that was.  All that to say we saw the final launch of the space shuttle Atlantis.  It was bittersweet in that it is time to retire them (actually past time), but I love seeing them launch and got goosebumps every time I saw a lift off in person or on TV.  My brother-in-law works on the base (not with NASA) so he got to take some photos with the Space Shuttle in the background on the launch pad for the final time. How cool is that!  He also got us some memorabilia from STS 135.

We walked to the end of the street and watched.  Cloud cover shortened the time we were able to see the shuttle.  I still enjoyed it and am glad I was able to see it.  Over one million people were there to see the space shuttle lift off.  On Sunday morning we went to the beach.  We had rain just about everyday we were there.  The only day it did not rain was our last day there.  LOL  That was ok.  We were able to rest a lot and enjoy family.  We saw a unique sight on Sunday when NASA brought in one of the shuttle booster rockets in to the port.  There is a pier at Jetty Park so we walked to that and watched it come in.

Now here are two pages I did of the launch. I used Extreme Elements stamp brush set, Tag punch and star punch.

So easy to pull out the laptop and run My Digital Studio on long rides in the truck and work on pages.
Hope you enjoy and have a great day.

We are also big space fans. My husband worked for North American Aviation/Rockwell/Boeing in Downey, CA(same company...just name changes} for 38 years. We were always hopeful that he, if not we, could go to a launch. He did go to see a shuttle land at Edwards. Sorry to see the program close. America benefitted from the program in many fields to say nothing of the jobs it created. I now wonder how many towns will become goast towns when NASA leaves. Shame on us.

Forgot to tell you that we visited Kings Mountain Battle Field a couple of years ago when we attended a Mullinax Family Reunion. Beautiful country.

The Kings Mountain Battleground National Park has a new museum. I am looking forward to seeing it. I love walking the trail there. So sorry you were not able to see a launch. They are so awesome. I am very blessed to see as many as I have. Never gets old to me.

I'm really interested in trying out the digital scrapbooking but having a hard time getting away from the traditional EXTREMELY time consuming way that I have all the Money invested in supplies! :) I'm so behind though and I know I could catch up much faster doing digital!

LOL I can completely understand Renee. I will never give up traditional scrapbooking. I am too much of a tactile person. I do enjoy digital scrapbooking though and I use the software for some cardmaking too. You can do hybrid scrapbooking where you combine the two. I have had a book printed and it was so pretty. I still love my ribbon, embellishmets, stamps, and other the other goodies with traditional scrapbooking. Let me know if you have any questions. I use Stampin' Up!'s program My Digital Studio and buy other papers and brush sets (stamps) from them. I can also download their products to use with Adobe too.
