Stampin' Up! Sock Monkey Birthday Card

I made this card for my youngest son's birthday.  Ok he is not kid age, but 24 years old on Tuesday.  LOL  I printed the poem about "you look like a monkey and smell like one too" on the inside.  LOL  He will get a laugh.  I put his name on the balloons with a Stampin' Up! Black marker.

I used markers on Stampin' Up!'s watercolor paper and used the aqua painter to color in the monkey and balloons.  I used Dusty Durango, Old Olive and Night of Navy colors for a challenge on Stampin' Connection, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator only website.  I made the birthday card for a challenge on a wonderful group of stampers called LNStampers. I also used Technostampers sketch challenge for this card.  How great it feels to make three challenges in one card!  Hope you enjoy it!
Have a wonderful day!

Froggy Baby Boy Onesie

My stepsister asked me to make some baby shower invitations.  This is a sample of what I came up with. The shower decorations are frogs and dragonflies.  I might make a dragonfly for the inside. The colors are Taken with Teal and Green Galore.  The frog is a smaller version of one I made here.  I scored the front of the cardstock with lines to give it some dimension.  I used Stampin' Up's wonderful punches to make this card.

I found these wonderful directions for the baby onesie card here on Becky Jensen.  I think this turned out so cute!  Hope she does too!

Have a wonderful day!

Spring Fling Stamp Camp

I am sharing a group shot of the projects we will be making at my upcoming Sping Fling Stamp Camp on March 27, 2010.  I am going to show you some different uses for the Ornament punch which is still available for purchase.  I have included a list below of the products still available for order from the Holiday mini.
We will be spraying the two of the cards with a Shimmer Paint and alcohol mixture.  In real life it shimmers so much, but it doesn't photograph well.  You should be able to click on the photo to see a larger image.  If you want to sign up, please contact me or leave a comment on this post.  I am located in Kings Mountain, NC.

Hope you have a great weekend and remember to turn your clocks forward one hour tonight!  Spring Forward.

Inspiration for these projects came from several talented people.  The fish card is a mostly cased card, but I do not have the link here with me in NC.  It is in SC.  So sorry for that. If this is your card, please comment and I will link it.
The bunny basket was inspired by Mary Director's card at KreatesKards.
The Butterfly card was a cased layout from this card by LeeAnn Greff.
The Vase card was inspired by a card by Sharon Field, but I couldn't find it on her blog.

I know it is early for Mother's Day cards, but I had made samples of the Wedding invitation on page 49 for my son and future daughter's wedding invitation.  I had several left after she picked the one she liked.  I wanted to use them  I received the Messages with Mom set recently and wanted to use it.

I love the way it turned out.  I also sprayed White Shimmer paint mixed with alcohol all over the card.

Ink - Bermuda Bay, Signo White Gel Pen

Stampin' Up! Three Baskets Just For You

I thought this punch could be used as baskets or as purses.  It is the round tab punch Stampin' Up! has. I love the Flower brads Stampin' Up! has.  I used a Texturz Impressions plate for the basket embossing.  The Paper is Sending Love Specialty paper still available in the Occasions Mini catalog.  Just thought I would post a quick one just for you!  LOL

Happy Stampin'!

Stampin' Up! 2 Step Bird Punch Card

This punch makes it easy to make the focal point of your card.  I used Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper.  Card stock is Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, and Pale Plum.  This is for a color challenge on Stampin' Connection which is for demonstrators only.  I sponged the bird with Frost White Shimmer Paint and Whisper White Craft Ink.  I sponged around the two Designer Papers with the Craft Whisper White. The bird's eye is made by touching the tip of the White Signo gel pen to the cardstock.  I ran the strip of Rich Razzleberry through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The dots on the Pale Plum strip were punched with a 1/8" handheld punch and glued with 2 way glue.  The Scallop Trim border punch is so cute!  I used the white pen on that also.  Happy Birthday is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  The color is Rich Razzleberry.  I am so glad that I purchased that set.  I use it a lot. You should be able to click on the photo to enlarge it.  Check below the card photos for my snow pics. I meant to put a link to Mary Jo Price-Williams aka Technostamper post where I took her sketch challenge.  She is so talented.  Check out her work and play in the challenges!  http://technostamper.blogspot.com/2010/02/monday-lunchtime-sketch-challenge-111.html

Happy Stampin'!

Look at what we had on March 2, 2010!  We rarely get snow and in March is very rare!  The snow fell about all day and was so pretty to watch.

Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Baby Card

Finally I was able to stamp today! Yahoo! I miss it when I cannot create something. Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to coordinate colors. I used Soft Subtles for this card. This card is for a Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group challenge to use pastel colors and NO NEUTRALS! Do you know how hard that is.

The flower is made from two Scallop Circles Item # 113468 cut with the Big Shot from Shades of Spring DSP Item # 117160 and Pretty in Pink card stock.  I inserted the head in between the two flowers.  The cheeks are chalked with Pretty in Pink pastel chalk.  The little strip of hair is cut from the Swirly Sizzlilts Decorative Strip Die Item # 113456 as is the stem of the flower.  The small flowers are punched from Pretty in Pink with the Boho Blossoms punch Item # 110711.  The Barely Banana card stock is run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder Item # 117335 in the Occasions Mini and punched with the Sale-a-Bration mini's Scallop Trim Border punch.  This punch is free with any $50 purchase of merchandise less taxes and shipping charges.  This punch will be available for sale in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. Hello Baby is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set Item # 115370 stamped with Certainly Celery Craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder.  I then punched it out with the Word Window punch Item # 115090 and matted it with a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock punched with the Modern Label punch Item # 116630

I thought about babies and spring when I heard the challenge so I combined the two! I think it turned out cute. I am sure the idea for the bloomin' baby is not original to me, but I did not case anyone's card. Hope you enjoy it! (I wrote this post on Thursday, February 25th, 2010)

Have a wonderful stampin' day!
