Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue Friend Card

I am loving using the Clear Mount Stamp Sets.  This card is made with Vintage Vogue available in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  You can line up the border stamp without a stamp-a-ma-jig.  How cool is that!  I sponged Close to Cocoa around the card stock to give it a more vintage feel.  I believe that you can click on the photo to view a larger copy of it.  I lined up the corners of the Regal Rose card stock in the Scallop Border punch to get the three dots. The Perfect Plum strip is punched with the Scallop Border punch and run through the crimper.  I used the sketch from Stamping 411 for this card.  Check out the wonderful samples from the designers also.

Stampin' Up! Punch Art Scrapbook Page Turtle and Frog

I needed to make some quick scrapbook pages for a Ronald McDonald house project so I thought about punch art.  I will share a girls page tomorrow.  I searched and found some cute animals on Splitcoast Stampers.  I do not know who came up with the original ideas for these, but if it was you please email me and let me know and I will give credit to you. 

The turtles were made with:

1 - 1 3/4" circle Always Artichoke
1 - 1 3/8" circle Old Olive
1 - 3/4" circle Always Artichoke
4 - 1/2" circles Always Artichoke
7 - 1/4" circles Barely Banana
2 - 1/4" circles Whisper White
2 - 1/8" circles Basic Black

for tail - punch one 3/4" circle from Always Artichoke and then cut a 1/2" circle in the shape of a semi circle (smile I call it)  Cut that in half and attach for tail.  I forgot to put that piece in the photograph below. You can see a similar piece in the frog pieces photograph.  I sponged Always Artichoke on the green pieces except for the tail.

                                             

For the Frog you will need:

1 - 1 3/4" circle Always Artichoke

1 - 1 3/8" circle Old Olive

2 - 3/4" circles Always Artichoke

2 - 1/2" circles Whisper White

2 - 1/4" circles Basic Black

2 - small flowers from Boho Blossoms punch Always Artichoke

2 - small ovals Always Artichoke

1 - large oval Always Artichoke

For smile - cut 3/4" Basic Black and then cut 1/2" circle form that in a smile shape.  Sponge green pieces with Always Artichoke.

For eyes the Always Artichoke circles are glued behind the oval and the white and black in front of the oval.

                                    

                                     

The scrapbook page is Barely Banana 12" x 12" with an 8 1/2" x 11" Old Olive card stock piece layered on top.  The letters are a sizzix alphabet die.

Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue Flower Card

I love this color combination - Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, and Perfect Plum.  I also used a Very Vanilla card stock, ribbon, and brad.  Stamp set is the new Clear Mount Vintage Vogue in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The medallion is made by cutting a 2 7/8" square of Perfect Plum.  Then center each side in the Scallop Border punch and punch all four sides. A Very Vanilla piece of 2 13/16" square is adhered to the back of the medallion. I like how it turned out.

I used the Rock and Roll method of inking on the flowers and then cut them out with paper snips.  Moving the paper instead of your scissors helps make nice cuts.  Used a Vanilla brad as the center of the flower and it also holds the two flowers together.  I used a bone folder to curl the petals of the flowers.

To do the Rock and Roll technique, load your stamp with the lightest color ink first then roll the edges of the stamp on the darker stamp pad.  Easy and cute!

Glue dots are perfect for attaching the ribbon and buttons.  The buttons are from the Button Latte collection. I tied ecru crochet thread in the buttons.

From the Heart Stampin' Up! card

I made this to include in a gift for my Secret Sister (Secret Prayer Partner) at our church. I haven't given it to her yet since I am in SC right now. I will take it to her when I return to NC.

I will put this in a basket with some Bath and Body Works products. Hope she likes them!

I love the new In Color Bermuda Bay. The paper is Bermuda Bay Designer Series Pattern Paper and the card stock is Whisper White and Bermuda Bay. I used the Scallop Eyelet Border, Wide Oval, Large Oval, Scallop Oval punches. Used the White Organza ribbon on the card and Bermuda Bay ribbon on the matchbook post it note holder. You can find instructions for the matchbook cover on Splitcoast Stampers. It is easy and fun to make. I should have put a white mat behind the DSP on the matchbook cover, but I was in a hurry and didn't. I still think it turned out cute!

Cards Made by a Friend

I met Sandy Glover through Stampin' Up! She is such a sweet and talented stamper. She makes birthday cards for everyone at her job. Sandy doesn't have a blog. I wanted to share some cards she made with you. I love them all. She used some items from the Occasions Mini on a few of the cards. Isn't that little doggie cute? I love it! Love the colors too. I love how she used the ticket corner punch on the Scalloped Border medallion. So neat huh? Anyway I hope you seeing her work as much as I do! Thanks for letting me share them Sandy.



My son was sick and now my sweet hubby has it so we are not returning to SC today. Hopefully we will be able to travel tomorrow. Maybe I can stamp something here tonight to share tomorrow or the next day. Most of my stamping things are in SC, not here in NC. Stamp Camp Saturday was a lot of fun. Wish you could have been there.

Stampin' Up! Scallop Envelope Bigz Die Box

There are other tutorials out there in blogging world for this box. This is not my original idea, but I wanted to share how to make it with you. This is a great box, but you will need to use very strong adhesive such as Stampin' Up!'s Sticky Strip.

Supplies for basic box:

4 - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" pieces of Pretty in Pink card stock

1 to 2 pieces of 3 1/4" square of Pretty in Pink card stock

Sticky Strip

1. Die cut 4 scallop envelopes from Pretty in Pink card stock. This Sizzix Bigz Die is only available through Stampin' Up! I use the stack shown below in the photo. Place card stock on die so that only one tab is cut off. See photo.

2. Using Perfect Dots Embossing Folder, emboss dots on Scallop Envelopes. I have included a photo to show you how to place it. That way you will have a flat tab to apply adhesive to and I chose to have my dots visible on the box and the reverse is on the folded over part. You will have to decide which one you want to show.

3. Fold on score lines as shown on photo. Remember to use your bone to burnish the folded card stock to obtain crisp corners. Since this has dots, you want to burnish right on the edge.

4. Place Sticky Strip on the remaining side tab as shown and line up the 4 scallop envelopes. Remove red liner and attach to each other ending with the final tab inside the box. It is helpful to fold and decide where the tape should go before actually applying it. Place Sticky Strip on bottom flaps ending with strips around the bottom piece edges to make it stay closed. This forms the bottom.

5. Insert the 3 1/4" square in bottom of the box. If desired you can glue down. Also if you want to you can add the 2nd square to the outside bottom.

6. Decorate and fill as desired. I have included photos of my finished box below. I will post a tutorial in the future on the scallop circle flower. I just love how this turned out.

Valentine Heart Box Stampin' Up! Daisies #2 Bigz Die

Such a cute box! I bought this paper mache box at a crafts store last year. Time flew by and I saved it until this year. I covered the sides and top with the new Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper has glittered accents. You can see a little of that on the top. It is so cute in real life. This paper is available in the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog. The flower is cut with the Sizzix Daisies #2 Bigz die in Pretty in Pink and Real Red card stock. I layered the pink and red flowers over each other using a little dab of the TomBow Multi Purpose adhesive. I repeated that with the smallest flower on the die. Next I added a Pretty in Pink corduroy button in the center. I punched several small hearts from Real Red card stock with the Heart to Heart punch. I glued one heart on the button and then around the sides with Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive. I folded one heart and placed on the end of the box. The leaves are die cut with the Bird with leaves and flower Bigz Die.

The Pretty in Pink lace on the side of the lid is made by cutting a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock 1" x 12". I used the Pinking Hearts Border punch available in the wonderful Occasions Mini Catalog. Punch one side of the strip. Insert strip in crimper and run through it. This makes the lace easier to go around curved surfaces. I had to stretch the crimped strip out a little to make it long enough to go around the box. I didn't want to add another strip. This is not my original idea. Glue this to side of box lid. Isn't it pretty? This went together quickly. Have a wonderful day creating.

Stampin' Up! Always Masculine Valentine's Card

I love this color combo. I used the In Color Bermuda Bay with Chocolate Chip card stock. The designer paper is Bermuda Bay Patterns. The inks are Bermuda Bay and Close to Cocoa. Accessories are linen thread, Button Latte, 1 1/4" Chocolate Chip striped ribbon, and Cutter Kit. I used the cutter kit to distress the edges of the card stock. The buttons are threaded with the linen thread. I also tied the left side of the ribbon with linen thread. So what do you think? I am giving this one to my special guy, my sweet hubby.

Stampin' Up! Love Bandit Card

You should be able to click on the image to enlarge it in another window. Not you normal Valentine color combo. I used Old Olive, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay card stock. I used the Pinking Hearts border punch along the bottom. The heart in the center is cut with our movers and shakers die. Come to the class on January 23 and use this product hands on. Not only does this die cut the center out, but also cuts the card stock to card size and scores it! How cool is that? The Melon Mambo heart is die cut and placed on top of the movers and shakers die and run through the Big Shot again.

The Raccoon was stamped in Basic Black Craft Ink and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. I then used bleach in the heart the raccoon is holding. That is how I "colored" the heart. I felt the card needed something else on the front. I ran a scrap piece of Bermuda Bay through the Big Shot with the Perfect Dots embossing folder then punched out with the Heart to Heart punch.

I ran a piece of Melon Mambo through the Big Shot with our new Perfect Dots embossing folder. Then I punched one edge with our Scalloped Border punch. A strip of Bermuda Bay is layered on top of that and a wide Old Olive grosgrain ribbon is tied in a knot over that. I think this will make a great Masculine card for my hubby!

Stampin' Up! Baroque Motifs Valentine Card

I love the elegance of the Baroque Motifs Stamp Set. I used the swirly background stamp on the bottom right corner of this card. Inked the stamp with Real Red Classic Ink and stamped on Very Vanilla card stock. The sentiment is stamped with Real Red on Very Vanilla and punched out with Stampin' Up!'s Word Window punch. The mat on the sentiment is punched with the Modern Label punch from Pretty in Pink card stock. I used the new Pink Hearts Border punch to punch a 5" strip of Real Red. This punch is available in the new Occasions Mini Catalog Item# 117649 for $15.95. It is so neat. I punched mine on copy paper for a few times to remove any manufacturing residue. There is a matching Pinking Hearts corner punch available. For the inside I stamped the swirly background in Real Red on the bottom right corner. I punched Real Red card stock with the Wide Oval punch. The Sentiment is stamped with Real Red Classic Ink using one of the stamps from the Hostess Level 1 Holiday Best stamp set. I punched that out with the Scallop Oval punch. I just love how many of our stamp images can be used with our punches! Don't you? I cut a 1 1/2" x 5" strip of the new Speciality Designer Series Paper - Sending Love - Item # 117153 for $11.95. I layered a 1/2" x 5" strip of Pretty in Pink card stock over this. This paper has glittery designs on it. I love the way this card turned out! Hope you do too!

Stampin' Up! Mini Milk Carton

You can find the Mini Milk Carton Sizzix Die Item# 117310 for this milk carton in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I have seen some neat birdhouses made out of this die. I can't wait to play some more with it!

I used the Sending Love Speciality paper on the strip and the top edge of the milk carton. There is a new embossing folder called Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder in the Occasions Mini. I ran some Real Red and Pretty in Pink card stock through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder. Whisper White Craft Ink is sponged around the edges of the hearts. I used the Heart to Heart punch to punch out the small hearts and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals. Ribbon is Real Red 1/4 inch grosgrain. Used the Word Window punch on the words and ran them over the Real Red Classic Ink pad. Can't wait to fill this up with Valentine's candy for my Valentine!

Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Love Bandit Card

What a cute set this is! I love the animals and that cute tree with the heart shaped leave section. How cute are they?

I am loving the new Clear Mount stamps. They are the same density of foam and the same high quality rubber Stampin' Up! is know for.

I used the squirrel on this card. I just love the little details on him. Look at those flowers in his hands. Taking the Going Gray marker, I drew on a plastic lid. Next I picked up the ink with a blender pen and colored around the edges of the squirrel, his tail, and shadow. I colored the flowers, ears, and feet in with the smaller end of the markers.

I used a misting bottle to fill with alcohol and a small amount of the shimmery paint. Then I sprayed all the pieces of the card so it has a beautiful sparkling sheen to it. It does not photograph well, but in real life it is so pretty. You can click on the photo to see a larger size. I decorated the inside with more hearts and a strip of the designer paper.
