Back from vacation. It was too short, but we had a great time in Florida. We had a bad storm at our home while we were away. Golf ball size hail fell and covered the lawn. I am going to add some photos of my front porch plants which were damaged in another post. We are grateful that we didn't have a lot of damage A family in our church had all their windows broken out of their home. Trees were down in our neighborhood and electricity was out a little while, cars dinged and I am sure a lot of roof damage from the hail. We still haven't seen the damage on our roof. We came in town and then turned around and went back out for my husband's job. I am hoping he can climb the ladder and look at it this weekend.
Now on the card for today! I made this one for my VC Rocks hotel roomie. VC Rocks is a virtual convention for Stampin' Up! enthusiasts every summer. This is my third year on VC Rocks Yahoo group and first for the virtual hotel. We send two cards and then a box of goodies. It has been fun getting to know my virtual "roomie".
Stamp Sets used: Upsy Daisy and Teeny Tiny Wishes (new in the upcoming catalog!)
Cardstock used: Whisper White, Cameo Coral
Ink used: Cameo Coral and Versamark
Accessories used: Organza white ribbon, Detail White embossing powder, Top Note Sizzix Die, Boho Blossoms flower punch, Modern Label punch (new in the catalog), and 1/4" circle punch
I first cut out the Top Note Sizzix Die from Cameo Coral cardstock and stamped the Upsy Daisy image in Cameo Coral Classic Ink.
Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, position the stamped image sheet just to the right and slightly up from the stamped image on the Cameo Coral Top Note.
Stamp the Upsy Daisy stamp in Versamark Ink over the Coral Cameo stamped image using the Stamp-a-ma-jig for positioning. Sprinkle Detail White embossing powder over the Versamark and tap off excess. Heat emboss with heat gun.
Using cardstock vellum die cut the Top Note. Cut around the edges where the perforated edge is. Lay that "mask" over the Cameo Coral Top Note piece. Sponge Cameo Coral around the outside edges. I love the dimension of this. You can do this on Whisper White Top Note die cut and you can sponge in other colors so it looks layered. I got the idea for the mask from Patty Bennett's blog here. She used window sheets, but I had the cardstock vellum and it works fine.

Wild About You Cards
These three cards are for two separate challenges. Challenge one comes from Stamping411's blog. It is a sketch challenge. Click on the blog's name above or the blog bling in the sidebar to go the website. Play along and post your cards. This is a great blog for new stampers and experienced stampers too!
Then I made three cards using a retiring set Wild About You for a challenge on StampinLNStampers yahoo group. Great group of Stampin' Up! demos and customers who share artwork and inspiration with each other. Blog bling is in sidebar. We were to use a retiring stamp set. I used three retiring sets, Holidays and Wishes, Hugs and Wishes, and Wild About You. Get yours while you can! They will retire soon and will not be available again from Stampin' Up! I give a 10% discount on the retiring sets. Contact me soon!
I masked the Birthday Hugs and Wishes stamp with post it notes. I included a photo for those not familiar with this technique. I cut the sticky part of the notes and used that to cover the part of the stamp I didn't want to show. I inked the stamp while it was on my table rubber side up so I could control where most of the ink was going. Then I removed the post it notes and huffed on the stamp and then stamped the hugs and wishes. Fast way to only use part of the image.
I won't be posting for a little over a week. I am going on vacation! Yahoo!

Enjoy the cards. The lighting is not good and I am not where my natural light lamp is. Sorry for the poor quality.

Come and Sit Awhile!
Click on photos for a larger view.
Here is my front porch with some photos of the plants I put in recently. Most of the hostas come back each year. We had a heavy rain and it splashed dirt on the plants and planters. We have a shade tree so only shade loving plants will grow here. I love the shade. It keeps my house and porch cooler. So come on over, grab a glass of blackberry lemonade, and sit awhile. Just thought I would share a little!

Strawberries 4 U
Stamp set used is Tart and Tangy! I think this is the perfect set for summertime cardmaking. I love to eat fresh strawberries! First chance I have had to post in a while. I really didn't get to stamp much this past week.
This card is made with the soon-t0-be retired In Colors, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. I am going to miss these In Colors so much, but Stampin' Up! has some great new In Colors coming out in the upcoming July catalog. I can't wait to get my preorder and make some samples for you to see! Now back to the card.
I inked the strawberries with Versamark ink and then with Kiwi Kiss on top of the Versamark. I stamped on Whisper White cardstock and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It looks splotchy, but I liked that look on the strawberries. I did the same technique with Riding Hood Red. By cutting out the Kiwi Kiss strawberry tops, it adds a little dimension. The Oval All stamp set is made to be used with the Oval Scallop punch. The sentiment is heat embossed with White Detail powder using Versamark ink. I punched the sentiment out and mounted it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The side strip is a piece of a retiring Sweet Slumber Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is almost like cardstock and has a lot of texture. I ran the strip through the Big Shot with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Flourish Textures Plate. Then I used our sanding block to sand the raised lines. I inked the strip with Versamark and heat embossed the whole thing with Clear embossing powder.
To finish off the card I stamped the swirling vine and flower image in Kiwi Kiss from the Baroque Motifs set on Whisper White. I used the ticket corner punch on the Riding Hood Red mat. I made a slit in the fold of the card with the Hobby Blade, threaded the Whisper White Organdy Ribbon through the slit and tied it in a knot. I used the Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive to glue the three half back pearls from the Pretties kit on top of the ribbon. So what do you think? Should I have added something else, like maybe a scallop border punch along the outside of the dsp strip? I love to hear your comments and tips and hints on how to make my cards and projects better.
