Tarheel Stamper - Free Bird

One of the these cards will go to my Monday Mailer partner in my NC Demos Yahoo Group.  I love making the flowers using the embossing stylus to make them more 3D.  I will have another post showing something I did with the background and something I discovered while making this "antique pottery" background.  I will explain that one tomorrow.  Stay tuned!

This is the sketch.

I used the beautiful Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper and the Nature Walk stamp set from the Occasions Mini.  Check it out on my sidebar.  There are some awesome products there. Plus if you spend $50 in merchandise, you can pick a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  What is better than that?

Tarheel Stamper - Nature Walk Designer Tiles

I used a technique from Technique Junkies Newsletter August 2008.  Technique Junkies is a wonderful newsletter with tons of techniques and ideas to use.

I love this stamp set, Nature Walk, and the coordinating Designer Series Paper, Botanical Gazette, from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Great time to buy from Stampin' Up! with Sale-a-bration going on now.  The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

Made the flowers with the Itty Bitty punch and the smallest flower in the Boho Blossoms punch.  I love using the embossing tool to make the petals curl up.  The sentiment is punched with the Wide Oval Punch and stamped in Marina Mist.  I used silver embossing powder between the "tiles".  I stamped the bird and flowers on the designer paper in Early Espresso.

We have family here with us this weekend and didn't have to travel to NC.  Yahoo!  I love visiting with them and have so much fun.  Have a great weekend!

Tarheel Stamper - Sassy Cake Card

Click on photo for larger view.
Wow it is already February!  I can't believe how fast time flies.  I would say when you are having fun, but the past few weeks have not been fun for me.  Dental appointments are not my favorite thing to do.  Spent over two hours in the chair on Monday and still have to go back one more time.  Last week I did the same thing but different procedure.  Needless to say I wasn't really in the mood to stamp until today.  I made this card for my Monday Mailer partner.  Poor lady has gotten a lot of late cards from me the past month.  Anyway enough of that and on to the card.

I used Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Very Vanilla for this card.  The stamp sets used are two hostess sets named Birthday Bakery and Slice of Life. The ribbon is the vanilla taffeta and small pearls were applied to the center of the flowers.  The flowers were punched with the Boho Blossoms punch. I love that punch.

I stamped the image in Jet Black Stazon and then used my markers on a lid.  I scribble on a plastic lid and pick up the marker with a blender pen.  I did use the Pink Pirouette marker directly on the paper.  Notice the tulip border.  I found a fantastic tutorial by Sharon Field on her blog Created by You here.  Wow a talented and sharing demonstrator she is!  Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!
