Tarheel Stamper - July 4th Projects

Wow I am late in posting these.  We love celebrating the fourth as we are a very patriotic family. I made a banner that reads I (heart) USA.  I used some retired products on this, but I thought I would show you the items I made. 

Here is the banner and a close up photo.  I used Itty Bitty Bits stamp set with White Stazon ink to stamp the border.

Next shows a favor box I made with the Fancy Favor Box Sizzix Die. 

And finally a photo of the table setting.  I used the leftover strips to make the curly shapes.

Tarheel Stamper - Snowman Klenex Box

This is not 100% Stampin' Up!  I saw this Justrite stamp set at a local scrapbook store and love the snowman. I picked up the snow stuff at the store.  I heat embossed the stamped images with black and silver embossing powder.  Then I took bleach and brushed it inside the embossed area on the ones I colored with markers.  I used an online tutorial for the Kleenex box cover.  I love how it turned out.  Card stock, inks, embossing folders, accessories are Stampin' Up!  You can click on the photos for a larger view.

Tarheel Stamper - Royal Blog Tour Christmas Tag Box

Christmas Rose Tag Box

Hope you thoroughly enjoyed your stay at the Royal Blog Tour castles during the blog tour.  A lot of work goes into the tour behind the scene and I appreciate all the time and effort put into it.

Now on to some instructions for the Christmas Tag Box and some more tags. 

I found the tutorial for the Christmas Tag Box from the super talented Becky Jensen of Stamp That.  You can see her tutorial here. 

I changed my box lid a little.  I made one lid per her instructions from card stock.  Then I laid it down flat on top of my cutting mat without cutting or taping the lid.  It was scored so I could see where the sides of the box lid were.  I cut out a square using a ruler and straight edge.  I measured in 3/4" from the score lines to cut the center out.  That was a 5 1/2" square cut out of the center of the box lid.  I cut a 6 inch square from Thick Window Sheet to glue under the box lid.  I stamped the flower image from Delightful Decorations on the window sheet in Stazon Opaque White.  You have to be careful not to slide the stamp around once you stamp.  I stamped on the box lid in the same ink.  Assemble the box lid as the tutorial instructs.  I cut a length of ribbon and adhered it underneath the bottom of the lid.  That way you don't have to untie it to open the box.  

One other thing I did differently was to glue the inserts to the side of the box with Tombow Multi-purpose glue.  I just held the side of the box to the insert for a few seconds until it stayed together.  

To make the raised platform under the folded punched ornament tags, I cut a 4 1/2" square and scored at 1/2" in from each edge.  Follow instructions on tutorial.

From the Heart Stampin' Up! card

I made this to include in a gift for my Secret Sister (Secret Prayer Partner) at our church. I haven't given it to her yet since I am in SC right now. I will take it to her when I return to NC.

I will put this in a basket with some Bath and Body Works products. Hope she likes them!

I love the new In Color Bermuda Bay. The paper is Bermuda Bay Designer Series Pattern Paper and the card stock is Whisper White and Bermuda Bay. I used the Scallop Eyelet Border, Wide Oval, Large Oval, Scallop Oval punches. Used the White Organza ribbon on the card and Bermuda Bay ribbon on the matchbook post it note holder. You can find instructions for the matchbook cover on Splitcoast Stampers. It is easy and fun to make. I should have put a white mat behind the DSP on the matchbook cover, but I was in a hurry and didn't. I still think it turned out cute!

Christmas Watering Can

I just love this watering can pattern and tutorial by Helen Orr for Splitcoast Stampers here. It is so cute and I can't wait to give some away for Christmas. I probably will fill it with candy or maybe a couple of drawer sachets topped with a few flowers. I have a photo of it unfilled at the end of this post. I used Baroque Motifs stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver embossing powder on Stampin' Up! Brushed Silver card stock. I thought it turned out very nicely. What do you think? Because my printer wouldn't let the Brushed Silver card stock run through it, I printed on regular copy paper. Then I used the mono adhesive to temporarily adhere it to the Brushed Silver.

I cut the pieces out leaving the pattern on top and then scored over the lines where indicated. I thought this would be a little harder, but it isn't and it makes such a cute box!

Christmas Test Tube Holder

I love this project. I found the pattern on Lisa Sommerville's blog. I used the new Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper found in the new Holiday Mini. This is a fun and easy project. My test tubes are 3/4" in diameter so I used a 3/4" circle punch. Also I use Stampin' Up!'s Sticky Strip on my boxes because it holds so well. On the first photo you can see how I punched the circles out and try to match them up and glue them the same way. One hint is to tie the ribbon on first and then glue the punched circle to the top. Much easier to line them up that way instead of trying to tie the ribbon in the front after the circle is glued down. I used a needle from the Crafter's Kit to thread the silver cord and thread it behind the knot after carefully punching through the snowflake. The snowflake is from the Hostess level 2 Stamp Set Christmas Punch. How smart for Stampin' Up! to make those snowflakes fit the Boho Blossoms punch. One of the perks of being a demo is the opportunity to purchase select Hostess sets before the catalog is released. I used the dots Impressionz plate from the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I set. The snowflakes and sentiment were stamped in Real Red Craft Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I punched the sentiment out with our scallop oval punch. Isn't it great how the stamps fit the punches? The ribbon is one of my favorites, the Whisper White organza ribbon. Have fun today and create something.
