Tarheel Stamper Bridal Shower Favors

Held a shower for my soon to be daughter in law, more like a daughter!  I made these as a favor for those attending.  They were a big hit! I will share some more things I made for the shower in future posts.  We had a blast.  I wanted to have a fun shower and from the feedback everyone loved it!  It is such a blessing when get togethers turn out well.  Hannah received a lot of gifts.  Bobby and Hannah have received a lot of items needed for their new life.  I believe that God is rewarding them for being faithful in their service to Him.  Bobby hopes to get a position in the future as a youth or associate pastor.

One fun game we had was to put household or health and beauty items in a cloth bag.  The bag has to be one that you cannot see through, but can feel through.  You tell the guests how many items are in the bag and they have to feel them and write down what they think they are.  I had some hard ones in there along with things I knew they would guess.  Just don't add chocolates LOL!  A few guests got a little rough and kneaded them.  LOL  We all had a lot of laughs.  Also don't use a kitchen timer unless the buttons cannot be pressed.  One guest found the buttons, but no one else noticed the beep.  LOL  So much fun!

Anyway I used the Sizzix Matchbox die for this.  I dry embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder  I used these colors and embossing on their wedding invitations.  The ribbon is Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I printed their names on a sheet in Really Rust and Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla.  Then they were punched with the small oval punch.  The flowers are from a retired Stampin' Up! punch.  I have a close up below.  Used a 1/4" circle in the middle of the flowers.

Opened box shown below.  I printed return address labels with their names and wedding date in Really Rust and Chocolate Chip.  I only put the labels on two candies and I think it turned out better than putting them on all four.  I am going to make these for the wedding rehearsal dinner we are hosting on the 12th.  I will have a couple of more posts on napkins and a banner I made.  I will be using those also at the dinner.

Tarheel Stamper - Upsy Daisy Get Well Card

Hi Stampin' Friends,

Hope you are doing well today!  I made this card for an aunt who is in the hospital.  If you are a praying person, I would appreciate your prayers for her.  She has pneumonia and a blood infection.  She is not in good health anyway.  I  made this card to hopefully cheer her up and let her know that I am praying for her.

I used Upsy Daisy heat embossed with White Detail powder on Regal Rose.  I used the Scallop Trim corner punch.  I stamped the line of flowers from the new Just Because I Care stamp set. Other colors are Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.  I used 1/4" Whisper White grosgrain ribbon.  The Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette pieces are embossed with the Perfect Dots embossing folder.

Try some heat embossing soon!  I think it is an easy and pretty technique!

Have a great day,

Tarheel Stamper Tuesday Tips

Hi Stampin' Friends,

Here is a quick Tuesday Tips.  Use the stylus tool on leaves to add veining.  You can score other ways to make your cards have some interest, but I love the veining on the leaves for yesterday's post.  You can see the card I made with the leaves here.  I have a close up photo of the leaves to show you below.

Tarheel Stamper - Because I Care Embossed

Hi Stampin' Friends

Made two cards using the new Because I Care stamp set and Vintage Vogue Jumbo Wheel.  One is for my mother's birthday.  I used the flower on Marina Mist for my mom's birthday card.  The other is a sympathy card for a cousin.  I thought the softer colors would be better for that one. She lost her full term baby about a week ago.  I feel so awful for her and her husband.  This was their first child.

The cards are made with Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.  I used White Detail embossing powder and Versamark ink for the flower.  I love the detailed flower image.  I just Little Leaves and Beautiful Wings embosslits.

Have a great day,

Tarheel Stamper - Because I Care

Short post as I am at Family Camp with our church.  My sweet husband and I are staying at a beautiful bed and breakfast, The Inn at Table Rock.  Beautiful scenery outside our room windows.  Following the card, I have some photos posted of the room.

Stamp set is the clear mount Because I Care, new in the catalog this year.  Love flowers and love this set.  I watercolored the back of vellum.  Stamp first in Basic Gray and let dry.  Turn over and color with markers.  I use an old plastic lid and scribble the marker on that.  Then pick up the marker with an aqua painter or a wet paint brush and paint the back of the stamped image.  That way the color is not as bright.

Tarheel Stamper Fancy Favor Wedding Box

Hi Stampin' Friends,

Hope you are all doing well.  Still battling a little dizziness, but am going to Family Camp with our church anyway.  I really need to get out of the house.  LOL

This is an easy box to make with the Big Shot.  I have a photo below of other items I made with this theme.  I have instructions to make the scallop circle purse here.  I trimmed the piece of card stock left after cutting this box for the strip going around the top of the box.  I thought it made a nice embellishment.

I am going to use these at the rehearsal dinner for the bride and groom.  Not sure what I will put in them yet, but I have to come up with something quickly. Any suggestions?  I would love to hear your suggestions.

I used Wedding Sweet stamp set on the boxes after cutting them out with the Big Shot.

Tarheel Stamper Tuesday Tips

Hi Stampin' Friends!

Feeling better today.  It is vertigo per the doctor's diagnosis.  He gave me some medicine and is starting to help.  Hope you are all doing well!

Here is another Tarheel Stamper Tuesday Tip.

If you have ever wanted to print a sentiment or journaling to match the colors of your Stampin' Up! inks, here are codes for you.  The web/hex codes are for posting on the web.

In the program you are using to write your text, find the color picker or whatever color chooser you have.  The one pictured below is from Adobe 7.  You can see where you enter the RGB or CMYK numbers.  Just enter those and your text will appear in the SU color you want.

I do not take credit for this chart.  I found the document you can download on Scrib.  Here is a link to the document. http://www.scribd.com/doc/33413806/2010-Stampin-Up-RGB-Hex-CMYK-Values

I would like to take these codes and then add a sample of the color ink to it.  If I ever do I will ask the author if I can post a chart like hers.

Tips - You might have to adjust for your printer.  Try the codes out, print a sample and then adjust if necessary.  Colors may look differently on your monitor and your printer compared to the actual Stampin' Up! colors.  Hope these help someone.

Tarheel Stamper - Bridal Shower Card

Hi Stampin' Friends,

Here is a fast post as I am on my way to the doctor's office.  I have vertigo or something since late Friday afternoon.  Yuck!  Can't wait to be able to stamp and feel normal again.

I made this for my future "daughter"'s wedding shower our church had for her on Sunday.  I was so disappointed that I could not attend since I was dizzy and sick.

Made this with the new embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper.  Colors are Ivory and Riding Hood Red.  I used the Perfect Dots embossing folder on the hearts which were cut out with the Sizzix Big Shot.  It is the Magnetic Movers and Shapers Punch Windows set.

Have a great day,

Tarheel Stamper Tuesday Tips

Hi Stampin' Friends!

Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend if you are in the USA and if you are elsewhere I hope you had a great weekend too!

Tarheel Stamper's Tuesday Tip for this week is:

Conditioning your stamps.  I have two examples of stamped tags for you to see.  You can click on the photos to get a larger view.  The one on the left is before I conditioned the stamp.  Usually the bolder stamps are the ones I need to condition.  The detailed ones don't need it.  I start by mounting my stamp.  Then I ink it up and try it on scrap paper.  If the stamped image looks like the one on the left, I sand lightly on the rubber with my sanding block.  I repeat the inking and stamping process and see if it is ok.  If not, I sand lightly again.  I have heard you can use Stazon cleaner or an eraser.  Some people say to rub them on your jeans.  The manufacturing process leaves a residue on the stamp and when it is removed the ink adheres better to the stamp resulting in cleanly stamped images.

Happy Stampin'!

Tarheel Stamper - Stampin' Up!

I finally received my Square Lattice Embossing Folder from backorder.  I love this one as I do all of them.  LOL  Colors are Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, and Always Artichoke. The leaves are from the bird punch.  I used a Jumbo Wheel name Cornelli Lace for the strip under the sentiment. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The inside greeting is from Party Hearty. This was my last Monday Mailer to my partner in June.

Love the new catalog!  Hope you have had time to view it or have a copy in your hand.  You can see it online by downloading the pdf file here on my business website.

You can also view the Summer Mini and supply lists for those on there.  Just scroll down the page and click on the pdfs you want to see.

If you are one of my regular customers, contact me to get a catalog.  I have some available at my house.

Happy 4th of July to all those in USA!
