Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio

Check out this video on Stampin' Up!'s new My Digital Studio software. It does so much more than just scrapbooking. I am having fun playing around on mine. I have a page I made on the software in this post.

If you have questions, please contact me at howe1472@bellsouth.net. I am learning about the program and taking classes to become certified.

Happy Stampin',

Stampin' Up! Medallion Birthday Card

I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday. I heat embossed the Medallion stamp (Item# 115223 $17.95 US) using Versamark ink and Detail White embossing powder on Bermuda Bay card stock. I used a Whisper White Basic Jumbo Grommet on the center of the Medallion. Tied a bow with the Whisper White Organza ribbon and adhered with a glue dot. I used the Stampin' Up! Perfect Details Texturz Plate on the Soft Suede and Real Red card stock. The base is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" Whisper White card stock. She loved it and so did I!

Stampin' Up! Bojo Blossoms Punch Card

I made this card for a very dear friend of mine. Her birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday Sheryl! I used the new In Colors of Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. I forgot to write the measurements down. I used the Swirly Sizzix die for the vines. The flowers are punched with the Boho Blossoms punch. The ribbon is the polka dotted Rich Razzleberry ribbon. Isn't it pretty? Also used was the Perfect Details Texturz plate. I love my Big Shot!

Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio Rocks!

I am loving this program. Isn't this cute? I see that I need to align one of the flowers a little better, but overall I think it is a great page. This is one of the first digital pages I have ever made. The page took me about 20 minutes to put together. This are my son and his fiance's engagement photos. These were taken at Kings Mountain National Battleground Park. I think it turned out well. I still love traditional scrapbooking, but believe I will use this program a lot. I think Stampin' Up! has done an outstanding job with this computer program. It will be available for sale on October 1, 2009 to customers. Demonstrators have been able to order this program since September 1st. That is one of the perks of being a demonstrator. I have the opportunity to buy products before they become available for customers to purchase. There are stamps, embellishments, designer papers, and much more in the program. You can make cards too. I think it is perfect for designing cards and pages. Anyway just wanted to share what I made tonight on the drive home from SC. Happy Stampin'!

Baby Girl Shower Card

I used retired Designer Series Paper from this year's Sale-a-bration freebie pack. I found the template online from a crafts magazine. I thought it made a cute card. Card stock is Certainly Celery. I used paper vellum for the apron. The button and ribbon are current. Just thought I would make a quick post with this card. I am giving this with a gift card for a young lady at church on Sunday. This card could be stepped up with more embellishments or using a Texturz plate on the vellum, but I am not feeling well and wanted to get it made quickly. Think she will like it?

Stampin' Up! Party Hearty B is for Birthday

This card is for our second son, Bobby's birthday on September 16th. He was born three years and a day after his older brother Randy. I tried to have him on Randy's third birthday, but he wanted his own birthday! LOL We were so happy when he made his debut. He was such a happy baby. The day after I was released from the hospital I had to go back with pneumonia. I cried and cried because I didn't have him with me. My sweet mom flew out to help take care of him. Russell didn't have any experience with a newborn as Randy was nine months old before he saw him. Russell was stationed in West Germany when Randy was born. Anyway back to the card...

When using stamps with a bolder or more solid shape, I condition my stamps first so I can get a better impression. There is a blog post on Stampin' 411 that talks about this if you want to go see it. Remember to hit the back button and come back here. LOL

Stampin' Up! Party Hearty Birthday Hats Card

First time I have used the Party Hearty stamp set. I love the hats and the option of coloring them with markers makes it versatile to match whatever colors you need. I stamped the middle hat on another piece of Whisper White and cut it out. Then I popped it up with a Stampin' Dimensional. I can't remember where I got this card sketch. My papers are in SC so I can't look at them. I had written the sizes of the pieces on those papers, but maybe I can add those later when I am in SC.

To make the sentiment pennant (LOL it rhymes), I cut a piece of Whisper White 1/4" wide by 2 1/4" (I think) long. Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy. Holding the 1 1/4" square punch upside down and aligning the corner of the punch at the end of the strip, I punched to get the look of a pennant. Then I added ink around the edges of the pennant using the ink pad.

I used the stack in the Big Shot which I talked about in an earlier post. It makes a huge difference on the way the texture looks. When making the background card stocks, make sure to align the design on both card stocks.

This is for our oldest son whose birthday is Tuesday. I will share another card I made using this set tomorrow. Our middle son was born three years and a day after our oldest. I went into labor on Randy's birthday, but Bobby didn't officially make his entrance into the world until 7 am the next day. When we went to the hospital in labor with Bobby, the doctor and nurses were happy to see us. We were the only ones there and they said there was nothing on TV. LOL Funny what memories we have.

Chrismas Cocoa Specialty DSP Card

I love this paper. It is flocked and feels and looks wonderful. Christmas is an important holiday to me and I love using something special on my Christmas cards. I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder and Real Red Craft Ink on the sentiment. The ribbon is the beautiful Whisper White Organza ribbon. Although this is a simple layout, I think the paper and stamped image make it a special one. We will be making this one in my Christmas in September Stamp Camp on September 26, 2009. If you are in the Kings Mountain, NC area and want to come, please contact me soon. Happy Stampin'!

Stampin' Up! Serene Snowflakes and Big Shot Tip

Shimmery Snowflakes Card

Serene Snowflakes is available in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It has a unique take on snowflakes. You can make some quick cards and scrapbook pages with this set and punch. I am having a Stamp Camp this month and making some Christmas projects. This will be one of them. You should be able to click on the photo above and view a larger image. The shimmer paint Stampin' Up! introduces in the Holiday Mini Catalog is awesome. A link to the Holiday Mini is in my side bar. Just click on the photo of the catalog. For the background I used a Stampin' Sponge to apply the Frost White shimmer paint to the stamp and then stamped. You have to be careful with this technique to not get too much paint on the stamp because it will blur the image. The shimmer paint gives a beautiful shimmer and a unique background for your Christmas cards and you can also use it to paint images.

I found a blog with a tip to get a great impression with the Stampin' Up! Texturz plates, but I cannot find the link at the moment. If you know the link, please let me know and I will give her credit. I have included a photo of the set up for the Big Shot. This is fantastic! Don't have to spray water or alcohol, just run the stack through the Big Shot and you get this fantastic impression. It will be hard to turn the handle, but it is worth the effort as you can see above. I used Brushed Silver to show the impression a little better. On the card for the stamp camp, we will use Whisper White. Can you tell how much I use the Big Shot by the condition of the cutting plate? LOL I love the Big Shot. I believe that is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Seriously it is so versatile. You should consider purchasing one. I love mine and use it all the time. You can use all companies dies in it.
