Roomie Box

I participate in VC Rocks every summer. It is a Yahoo group. I love it! I enjoy taking the classes, challenges, and other activities that go on through out the summer. It is for those who love Stampin' Up! Also for those who can't go to convention. It is a virtual convention. I tried the hotel (virtual) this year and loved it. I was assigned a very sweet Canadian lady named Nadia.

One of the requirements was to send a roomie box at the end of the hotel. I sent the items pictured. The card pictured above is one in the royal blog tour. The pouches have dried fruit and nuts in cello bags. I also sent her the other two cards from the blog tour. It has been a blast and looking forward to next year. Thought you might like seeing what I sent her. I sent her a single snowflake stamp, a roll of the white organza ribbon, and the gusseted envelopes. I hope she enjoys the handmade items as well.

Have a great day Stampin'!

Royal Blog Tour

Welcome! I am so happy you stopped by on our Royal Blog Tour! I am sure the other princesses will treat you with great hospitality and like royalty!

I am featuring the Stampin' Up! stamp set Dream Garden. It is so pretty and different than what I usually choose. Sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zone and try something new! I have four samples to share with you. I wanted you to see the different looks you can achieve with one stamp set. I am offering blog candy. Instructions for the blog candy is after the samples. Please read them carefully.

This card above uses the new In Color Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Creamy Caramel card stock and Rich Razzleberry Classic ink. I used one of Stampin' Up!'s Textures Plates in the Big Shot. The Linen thread adds another touch of texture.

This card uses the new In Color Bermuda Bay ink, card stock, Designer Series Paper, and the new Elegant Bouquet Impressions Embossing Folder. Loving the new In Colors!

These boxes were made with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Sizzix Matchbox Die. I used the Bermuda Bay Designer Series Paper and Whisper White card stock. The Daisies #2 die was used on Crushed Curry and Whisper White. I got the half back pearls from the Pretties Kit. Ribbon is the Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon. Isn't it delicious looking?

My final project is a distressed card. I used a circle cut in half for visual interest behind the Close to Cocoa panel. This card uses the new Lattice Bigz Die, another exclusive Stampin' Up! Sizzix die. I chose Cameo Coral, Whisper White, and Close to Cocoa for this card. The teapot was stamped in Cameo Coral Craft Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I hope you have enjoyed this stop on your Royal Blog Tour. Be sure to bookmark my blog or sign up for email subscription or other feed readers for new projects and promotions!

Flower Pot Full of Sunflowers

This is a birthday card for my Mom. Love you Mom! Happy Happy Birthday! She is such a sweet, humble person and such a good friend to me. I missed a lot of time with her while my husband was in the US Army. I am thankful that I live close to her now and can at least visit her once a week. Even though we live in two states now because of my husband's job, I am able to see her which for many years at a time was not the case. I have so much respect for all those who have served or are serving now in the armed forces.

This is a total case with a few tweaks. I am not at my home where I have the card I cased. It was in a VC Rocks swap and so cute. I changed the color of the sunflowers and added a base to my pot. You know the saying, "Mistakes are just reasons for embellishments?" LOL Well when I traced and cut out the template by Andrea Walford. Then I ran it through the Big Shot with a Texturz Plate. When I got the card out of the Big Shot, I discovered that it had slipped and at the bottom the impression wasn't there. So I decided to add a saucer to the bottom to cover the mistake. LOL Now you know the rest of the story.

Hope you enjoyed the card and Happy Stampin'!

Summery Sandal Card

Another card we will be making at my Simply Shaped Card Stamp Camp on July 25, 2009. Summer is my favorite season although I love Christmas time too. Floating in the pool, looking up at the beautiful sky and birds flying, and enjoying God's handiwork is a relaxing way for me to spend some time with my family.

I love this sandal template I found at http://www.stampington.com/html/tempting_template_sandal.html. I scored the card stock in half and placed the fold on the upper left of the sandal. The template was traced with pencil and cut out. Then I traced another sandal template on a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper and cut out about 1/4 inch from the pencil line. Cutting white ribbon I used a brad to attach the ribbon to the toe part first, then the sides. Next I glued the paper to the card stock tucking the ends of the ribbon under the paper. I didn't want the ends of the ribbon to show. Remember to use a wood block to press the back of the brad, the prongs, down. It makes a difference in how your paper glues down. I used the Five Petal punch, 1/4 inch circle, and Bojo Blossoms punches for the flowers. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes punched with the Modern Label punch. Card stock and ink used were Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. Loving these new In Colors. It was hard to see last year's retired, but I am enjoying using the new In Colors.

Hope you have a blessed day! Have fun and create something. If you use the template, please put a link in a comment so I can see what you create! I love seeing others artwork!

I am loving some of the new In Colors especially Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry. I am sure I will love the others too as I use them more.

The card above is for my upcoming July 25 Simply Shaped Stamp Camp.

I used Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, and Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper. Punches used were Scallop Border, Boho Blossoms, and 1/4" circle punch. Sizzix Bigz die Bird w/leaves and Sizzlits I used the Score Pal to score the wood slat lines on the birdhouse. Sassy Heels Card

I love this template. I am not sure who the designer of the template is. If it was you or you know where on the web this template is, please contact me. I would love to link this one. I received a card in a VCRocks swap made by Betty Brotzman. The first card is the one we are making at my July stamp camp. I can't wait to teach the ladies how to make this one. What lady wouldn't want to receive one of these! The second one is another one I made.

The card is made with Whisper White and the new In Color Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I used Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink. The accessories used were Rich Razzleberry ink, Diamond Dust glitter, and the 5 Petal and Boho Blossoms punches. I love this card. I made two of the templates. Cutting the mask for the heel and sole of the shoe out of one of the templates, I masked the shoe and sponged on Rich Razzleberry. I sponged the ink heavily. I used the Boho Backgrounds stamp set to stamp the flowers in Rich Razzleberry.
This card is the same template with the flowers stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Whisper White detail powder. I used the Daisies Sizzix Bigz die, Boho Blossoms punch, and a half back pearl from the Pretties Kit. Click on photos to view a larger image.

SNR Oh Say Can You See Blog Tour

Welcome to the Scrapbook News and Review's "Oh Say Can You See" Blog Tour Hop! I am so excited to be part of this 90+ blog tour hop! Check out all the great projects! This tour is a Red, White, and Blue themed tour. There are some fantastic blog candies being given away. You can start this blog tour at the beginning or go to the next blog by clicking on the link at the end of my post. You can go to the start of the blog by clicking on the blog hop photo above! Now on to my project! I love the USA and wanted to show it. My husband served 20 years in the Army. I am so proud of him!

This is a magnet for my refrigerator or my metal file cabinet. It is a simple project. The star and heart are from retired chipboard Stampin' Up! products. I covered a chipboard star with Brilliant Blue cardstock. The cardstock was heat embossed with Detail White embossing powder using Versamark ink. I used the Classic Backgrounds stamp set for the small stars. Using a glue stick, I adhered the cardstock to the chipboard. You can trace around the star on the backside of the cardstock and cut if before attaching to the chipboard or use a craft blade and turn the star over and trim after you glue the cardstock down.

I used a red wire to thread the USA beads on. Crystal Effects is great for gluing down the beads and heart. I used a red Sharpie pen to color the outside edges of the heart. I put a layer of Crystal Effects over the heart and sprinkle red glitter. Let it dry and then shook off the excess glitter. After shaking the glitter. I made sure there were no spots without ink showing on the front of the heart and touched up the spots I needed to. For the star I used a blue sharpie around the outside edges so they matched the cardstock. Glue a magnet on the back and you are finished! Easy peasy as some say!
